A special meeting of the Hancock County Commissioners will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Ellsworth City Hall, 1 City Hall Plaza, Ellsworth Maine.

The public is encouraged to attend a special meeting of the Hancock County Commissioners on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers located on the first floor of Ellsworth City Hall, 1 City Hall Plaza, Ellsworth Maine. The purpose of this meeting is to gain insight, ideas and public suggestions regarding Community Benefit Funds, generated by the Bull Hill wind project.

A community benefits agreement was entered into by the County of Hancock and Blue Sky East, LLC Wind Energy Project June 2nd, 2011. The Community Benefits Agreement includes annual contributions to the County from the project developers for a period of up to 20 years.  The County may utilize these payments for public purposes, including, but not limited to, property tax reductions, economic development projects, land and natural resource conservation, tourism promotion or reduction of energy costs.
