The special meeting of the Hancock County Commissioners was brought to order by Commissioner Blasi at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in the conference room of the County courthouse located in Ellsworth, ME with Commissioners Brown and Clark in attendance.

No adjustments to the agenda.

MOTION: to enter Executive Session under MRSA Title 1 §405 6(E) for the purpose of discussing the Union Negotiations status with our Chief Negotiator (Clark/Brown 3-0, motion passed)

Chairperson Blasi declared the executive session closed, with nothing to report.

MOTION: to enter Executive Session under MRSA Title 1 §405 6(D) to negotiate labor union contracts (Brown/Clark 3-0, motion passed)

Grievance Hearing

Chairperson Blasi introduced those in attendance: Commissioners Clark, Brown, and Blasi, County Administrator Adkins, his assistant Rebekah Knowlton, Deputy Corey Bagley (the Grievant), Teamsters business Agent Joe Piccone, and Sheriff Scott Kane.

Chairperson Blasi administered an oath to Deputy Bagley.  Deputy Bagley and Piccone declined to hold the hearing in Executive Session. 

After discussion, the grievance was withdrawn.

MOTION: to adjourn 1:30 p.m. (Clark /Blasi, 3-0, motion passed)
