A Scholarship Program has been implemented by the Hancock County Commissioners and designed to offer scholarships for secondary education to residents of the Hancock County Unorganized Territories. The scholarship program is open to residents of the Hancock County Unorganized Territories, including high school seniors, currently enrolled college students and adults interested in attending Maine intuitions of higher learning.
The scholarships are available to residents of the Hancock County Unorganized Territories, who are going to attend Maine intuitions of higher learning. Applications are available through the Ellsworth High School Guidance Office and on the Hancock County website. Applications must be submitted to the Ellsworth High School Guidance Office prior to April 15, 2019.
he Scholarship Program is made available by the County Commissioners through the use of the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) of the Bull Hill Wind Project and the Hancock Wind Project. Monies in these TIF accounts have been designated for education and training through scholarships for Unorganized Territory residents to attend Maine institutions of higher learning.
